CJ Dividend Question - Ps help

I am planning to sell some CJ today to offset capital gains. Woud I still qualify for the divident payout for Jan 15th.

well, the answer to your question is yes, and no yes, you will receive the dividend as the ex-dividend date was yesterday, so you could have sold yesterday or today to receive the dividend. but here's the no.  the last date to lock in capital losses for 2022 was also a few days ago.  Any sale today will settle in the new year, and the capital loss will apply at the end of 2023 ...more

You're too late to benefit from the capital loss so you might as well hang on for the great dividends.  Dec 28 was the last trade date to settle before year end.
