I know that...I told you yesterday $6,29(income tax purpose)  and $6,23 (minus the dividend) anyway there is no income taxe purpose the shares could be in TFSA and RRSP
Comment by Quintessential1 on Jan 04, 2024 8:58pm
Nope...the swing shares were just to average down my core holding. I like my ACB now.  I'm green. like really green. Not fake green by subtracting the dividend off my ACB.  LOL  ;-) GLTA

Just doing some calculations loops and it seems like my lowly pennies swing trade at about 3 times the dividend rate taxed at 50% capital gains probably brings in more than your entire div on your 50K shares - the full marginal tax rate you pay.  It is definately more than the amount you have made off of your huge block 37 900 div (which are the only dividends you have received btw) after ...more

Qunite, I am not sure what you are refering to regarding trading in a TFSA. Perhaps you mean moving funds in/out of a TFSA? That could have limits. I am quite sure you can trade as much as you want in a tsfa given you may make money or lose. Trading is a Tax Free account is just that -  tax free. So if you make 100% profit, it is tax free as is any withdrawals which would include any capital ...more

Inggas, there are no limits to trading within a TFSA because they are just like any other account - except it is tax sheltered. The only amount subject to taxation is if you contribute more than your allowable limit, then you are also subject to interest penalites which are quite high. The only other limit is regarding withdrawals where you have to wait until the following year to redeposit.  ...more
