Manipulation from going on today, ramp up, pull the bids drop it on low volume, fill some big orders, think I saw couple 50k and 100k. Pretty frustrating indeed. It was just pointed out to me that this is probably being done by "Dark Pools"
Something that some of you should read if you want to understand the dynamics of what can go on here.

Yes, it's called Alpha Group here. Very disappointed that the TSX/LSE thing didn't go thru.

Same, I heard that last night and was quite disappointed myself. We could go on and on ranting about that.I don't really fully understand how the dark pool (alpha group) works though, maybe you could explain it better.

Basically, it's a cartel, totally opaque. Never issue market orders on the TSX or the Venture.

This is disheartening.  How can the average retail investor stand a fair chance?  I've just started playing the stock market about a year ago and I sometimes feel like I'm being taken for a RIDE!  I've watched some stock and their price movement and am convinced that the SPs are being manipulated by institutional players.  Since the stock market is a public market

LuckyBudda,Yes, it is very disheartening. In fact it's gotten worse over the years and it'll probably get worse. The advantage that the retail investor still has is patience. These big boys are constrained by artificial quarterly, yearly results. If you've bought CMK, be patient. Our day will come. The big boys are at it again today. Time & Sales
