Everbody take a deep breath

I hate to be the voice of reason, but, there has been a plethora of data to sort through this week, and, as a group I believe we have done a good job.  Numerous questions that have been plaguing all of us have been answered.   We have been bombarded with earnings announcements, geopolitical changes, emerging market confusion and we still have this European banking crisis to deal with.

Vent if you must, but, keep this in mind over the weekend, the share price is up 62% in 17 days while Joy Global (same sector) is up 39% during the same period.  Which one do you think is a better run company?

Kindest regards,

Pundit.

Maybe I'm confused but the only JoyGlobal I can find is on the Nasdaq and is in const&agricultural machinery so doesn't appear to be in the same sector at all. Having said that though I compared their performance over the last year. Joy Global is up 15% YTD and Cline is down 34% YTD so to me it looks like Joy Global is the better run company. GLTA

im sorry stockhouse pundit but that last comment was very weak, you take the lowest price of the stock during that time frame and say its up 67%????? of course, your not looking at the bigger picture......shareholders. are angry b/c missed production results and a second round of issuing options was granted.....that's why people here are upset.Take for example::<<while 1.5 milion ...more

Ckstar, every one of your share is the same as every one that bates holds. Have you ever wondered how this 'incompetent' management found new elk and paid only $14 mil.? If you do not know how, then you do know how the world works. There is an end game to this play. How much that will be, no one knows, but certainly, there are much bigger vested interests than us here that will ensure that ...more

Do you know why they paid only 14 million for Elk MIne.The previous owners had too many challenges ug and could not generate a consistant profit.Main challenges may be thin seams, ground falls, faults and water.Talk to the old miners in Town that worked these coalfields, they may give you a better answers and projected targets than current managementWhy no feasiabilty study up front for such ...more

You are right ckstar83, I was not looking at the big picture just the bounce within sector over the last 17 days. Admittedly, I was guilty of doing a little cheerleading going into the weekend. You're points are well made.

Caerus88,JOY is a heavy mining equipment manufacturer with a one year backlog of orders.  JOY is a much better run company than CMK yet over the past 17 days CMK's SP has outperformed JOY.  JOY is a derivative play, similar to the Rails (CP, CN, Union Pacific etc. )in that they can be a indicator as to health of the coal industry.   For example, if CSX or Union Pacific is ...more

Thanks Pundit;Didn't realize they (JOY) sold mining equipment. I can see the relationship. I think that CMK management isn't the strongest but I do give them credit for actually getting the mine up and running. Unfortunately, the market doesn't reward for past performance but for future value. They really need to prove some future value by hitting production targets and showing some ...more

As noted in their new releaser actual conditions may prevent them from reaching their targets
