Looking ahead

Given all the macro issues out there presenting possible downward pressure in the short term for all commodies, 2 issues need to be addressed specific to New Elk.

First, as others have noted here, how long will the cash on hand last? What is the production ramp up profile at this time? The stated target of 3.0 mty is simply that, a target. Are we at 0.5, 1.5 mty? IMO, we have a 2-3 month window before cash runs out.

Second, can New Elk be viable at lower met coal prices? $150?

On October 17 Cline announced results for Q3 2011 which ended on August 31. Going by this I expect the Q4 results (ending November 30) should be out around mid January. I am hoping for a NR about the blue seam and possible sales before then but not expecting it given management's reluctance to release info. Hopefully we'll at least get an update on Q4 release. GLTA

Aren't Q4/Year End results due within 60 days? If so, the results will be out at the end of Jan 2012.

according to an analyst report, the Allen Seam is already fully permitted and prodcution should be underway.  Allen Seam could contribute  up to 1.0M tonnes per year at full capacity based on the previous guidance.  Blue Seam permits are still pending.  The ventiliation and ERP permits are the pending permits.  Cline is ready to ramp up production on Blue Seam as soon as ...more

My estimate of mid January was based on the last quarter being released about 45 days after the fact. I agree though that we shouldn't expect any sales figures. My hope was that along with the financial results we might get an update on where we are in regards to production ramp up and marketing efforts. My understanding was that the permits for the Blue Seam were received about November 18 ...more

Who provides ventilliation and ERP permits - approvals?
Comment by cooper90 on Dec 13, 2011 4:42pm
ytKim79....The mining and safety department of Colorado has fully approved the blue seam as of Nov 18th, I called and they said no open approvals are pending for the new ELK mine period, the blue seam was approved period. So unless the ventiliation permit is seperate, provide back-up or analyst report?? I don't believe anything is pending at all for the blue seam. COOPER TORONTO, Aug. 31 ...more

Copper90: The Ventilation and Emergency Response Plan permits are with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).  When did you call MSHA? If you called MSHA today and they said nothing is pending for new Elk then it might be a good news.  The report that I am referring was posted on Dec 7, 2011 by M-partners.  So the permits may have got approved in past 7 days ...more

ytkim79 thanks for your updates, any sharing of info is what this board should be all about. I called Colorado, Mining and Safety Department of Natural Resources 303-866-3567 and spoke with a lady by the name of Janet, she said that permits were approved for the Blue seam as of Nov 18th 2011. I asked if any additional permits were pending for the blue seam or other mine areas, she said no open ...more
