Congratulations CMK

This is the 6th straight day of deCLINEs for CMK.  Tomorrow will be #7 and Friday #8.

With respect to the posting about book value, enterprise value, etc

If they can't mine the coal which by now is obvious they can't the valuation basis is one of liquidation value not one based upon going concern:

the value is

equipment (mabe 50 cents on the dollar)

all the capatalized mine costs - ZERO

property - ZERO

Miner666 is right - sell before the heavy lifting and lying begins next time.  Wish I did.

You wouldn't liquidate this.  There would be a strategic buyer.  Guaranteed it would sell for more than $50mm (value of marret loan).  They have 6CMs operating, 4 on site.   All the fixed capital has been spent.  Now it's just a matter of variable cost < price of their product.

Who cares whats on site and how do you know whats on site?  Do you beleive what cmk mgmt says?  Its quite simple - no coal  means the property has no value and no earnings potential and thats liquidation.  If apple could not produce any computers, ipods, ipads, etc it would be the same thing. You are right about one thing - all fixed capital has been spent - on what I don't ...more

Mate0999, how many CMs are working now? they are producing clean coal? thx
Comment by mateo999 on Apr 11, 2012 11:24pm
They have 6 cms in 3 super sections.  2 in the blue, one in the Allen.  I believe they have 4 others on site but not being used.   As for coal quality, I'm not sure what's coming out, but I believe what's coming out of Allen is better quality (for now) than what's coming out of the blue   Full disclosure, I'm long the stock

thx, mateo999. that means they are producing a lot of coal if 6 CMs are operating.

i wouldn't say they're producing a lot of coal.  I'm not sure what the yield is from blue coal out of the wash plant.  i don't think they're likely at the wide seams at this point.
