Cline - New Elk Mine Executive Appointments

TORONTO, May 29, 2012 /CNW/ - New Elk Coal Company LLC (the 'Company'), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cline Mining Corporation ("Cline") (TSX:CMK) announces the appointment of Mr. David J. Stone to be Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Mr. Darren Nicholls to be Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the Company.

Mr. Stone is an experienced Mining Engineer, previously General Manager, Underground Mining with Xstrata Coal, Australia with international responsibilities for the Xstrata mines and operations globally. David has been responsible for planning, development and performance of underground operations within Xstrata, as well as the assessment, review and acquisition strategy for potential new assets. David managed all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, Human Resources and Industrial Relations integrated with the management of the commercial and physical requirements. Prior to joining Xstrata David had been employed with Anglo Coal, BHP and MIM in progressively important coal mine management, engineering, planning and business systems.

Mr. Nicholls is a qualified Mine Manager with broad experience in mine management operations most recently with Xstrata Coal, Australia as General Manager eastern operations and Manager Underground Operations. Darren was previously with ArcelorMittal London as Vice-President Mining-Management, Coal with operating and commercial accountability for thirty-one coal mines and six coal preparation plants internationally.

Mr. Stone will be fully responsible for the management of all New Elk Coal Company LLC personnel, management and operations, reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors of Cline Mining Corporation. Mr. Nicholls will report to Mr. Stone and will be Assistant COO.

Mr. Dennis Mraz will advise and assist in the New Elk management transition changes and assume his new duties as Vice President, Engineering of Cline Mining Corporation.

It’s time Ken Bates got his act to gather! He has now hired someone that has a lot of experience in coal mining and coal knowledge worldwide let’s hope we will go forward from here. Looking forward to better days of share prices’, this could be another Western Coal, now with the new and right people at the head of planning. tinyhopes

Tinyhopes; you may be right about the comparision to Western given the recent annoucements. It almost feels like 2007 all over again with 200+mil. increase in resource, change in mine management. Sure feels familiar. Is this the beginning of a new chapter that may bring us to new heights in the next 2-3 years. Would you not think that the new mine managment may further exploit the resource ...more

If we can get the long wall up and running by 2014-15, add the 4-5 supersections and we're at 10 mty. Let the speculation begin. It's 2007 redux.

I can see what you are thinking and very possible for more declines but first they have to get more production from the Allen and the Blue seam before they start going deeper this will all come together in the next few years. As for B.C. settling with Cline I do not think that Cline will get $2 million As our premier is spending far more then she has and that means B.C. will farther in debit in ...more
