In Defense of Summer 22

I have said that before and I will say it again. Expressing opinions on this board is everyone's right. May be the opinions are not based on facts. It does not matter, priests, and I would say 99% of the population who have not studies formal logic do it all the time. If people get irritated by unorthodox opinions, too bad, and I am amazed that there are people on this board that like to play the "thought police" and/ or  the self-appointed  censor. Free speech and association is enshrined in the Canadian Constitution and all they have to do, the self appointed censors, is walk down the library and look it up.

If only it was that simple, just about personal opinions and thoughts expressed. You can justify everything if you like under the flag of free will. But, we're talking money here and that changes things. Perhaps you assume too much. How do you know that he wasn't posting "opinions" that implied a positive event that investors understood it to be a wink and a nod spin driving up ...more

I beg to disagree. Stockhouse is not an official sanctioned site either by the law or any other authority. It's a free forum of ideas; and ideas vary and can not be sanitized by any self-appointed censor or "thought policeman". if such ideas were coming out of, say CMK or the TSX and so forth, then there are consequences. Money or no money free speech in Canada is not ...more

Bond you are missing the point, the crime isn't in the Stockhouse posts. The crime may exist behind those posts. I guess that he/shewill have to be investigated to see if there any laws broken behind those posts.

Also Bond, if one of those money managers went on BNN with some insider information and announced to the world that there was a buyout coming then yes, they are liable. There is a clear difference between speculating and knowing.

Disagree all you want, but the reality is that Stockhouse is not some sanctuary that is either immune from, or above the law. Just ask some of those SH posters that have been found guilty in civil cases for their postings.

You are missing the point. In the society we live in the presumption of innonce till proven guitly is taken for granted and the whole legal system is based on that. In the meantime if you have credible evidence that the above named individual is deliberately misleading the public and he is not simply expressing an opinion, you can go ahead and sue him. But if you lose the case, watch out because ...more

Bond, I am not sueing summer22! I have simply reported summer22 to the regulatory authorities. The only legal action that may be taken is between summer22 and those regulatory authorities. So, stop trying to take this conversation in a different direction. End of friggen discussion!
Comment by bond46 on Feb 13, 2013 3:37pm
It's the same thing. When you report someone to the authorities can not be on a mere suspicion; it has to be on credible evidence and from what I gather this individual never said that he had any insider info or anything like that. This conclusion is perhaps yours because this guy just likes to make prophesies like all the other prophets on earth. It's indeed "funny" as ...more

Okay then Bond, the regulatory authorities will make the decision whether to proceed or not. I report it (whether it is legitimate or not) and other people do what they want with it. Anyone can file a report. It's the authorities decision whether to proceed or not. You get it now????

Shane117 is such a BS!

Go ahead and make specific charges and you'll have your a@@@@@ whipped; but I don't think the authorities will take your nonsense seriously; I presume they have better judgement on such matters and they have seen too many school yard bullies to take you seriously, or else we are all in trouble.
