What was funny was "both moderated their positions to win over centralist voters." To be honest I sort of like the guy. Anyway the congress is split ..

His campaign in November said none of the copper majors have anything to worrry about and that he won't change any concerssions already in place. We may get some higher taxes, hopefully nothing crazy (SD still has that agreement), unfortunately Mantos would be exposed to taxes. He seems more interesting in a state owned lithium company...

Far as I know, and correct me if I am wrong, that Dominga project also involves also a "mega-port," which would be close to nature reserves. The Coquimbo region. A tourist region. Blue-nose dolphins, penguins, you name it. North is the arid Atacama region. The Montoverde mine is in the Atacama Desert... And the Santo Domingo project is 30km from that ..

I gotta try walking around in Google maps, sounds like fun. Well they do mention a rail option and discussions ongoing there, with a chance of replacing the "iron pipeline" to save $150 million. Water and concentrate pipelines will run parallel to roads. Paved road one km away .. I read that the new prez's father was a chemical engineer .. so can he be all that bad?!?

The merger/acquisition which greatly adds to their bench strength working in Chile looks very smart to me now. Dan samson
