A Senate committee has rescheduled a hearing for next week to vote on bill that would limit the ability of federal agencies to use past marijuana use as a factor in making employment and security clearance decisions.
The legislation—titled the Dismantling Outdated Obstacles and Barriers to Individual Employment, or DOOBIE, Act—was initially set to receive a markup in the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in July. That hearing was later cancelled, but now it’s set to go before the panel on Wednesday. https://www.marijuanamoment.net/senate-committee-will-vote-on-doobie-act-to-block-agencies-from-using-past-marijuana-use-to-deny-employment-and-security-clearances/
