CEO Alex exercised some more options today and no record of CVE's May share buybacks. Which prob means CVE is switching from buybacks to Variable Div for Q2.

Variable div are bad for companies in stable recession resistant industries, ie utilities and consumer companies ie food as they should be better able to manage their cashflow and dividends year upon year. Variable are good for cyclical industry companies like oil, mining, construction etc as ther income goes up and down and they can match theor dividends to that cashflow. For investors, depends ...more
