Interesting news release from Irving Oil yesterday concerning the fact that they are no longer for sale! Something must of changed as I was well informed that a deal was on the table with Cenovus.

Thank god, the last thing CVE needs is another cash bleeding refinery.  They can't figure out how to operate the ones they have after years of trying.  #moneypit

"something must have changed"....its called the price and i still don't believe CVE was ever in the running...why?? if you suppossedly knew, others would have known and its no longer a secret-CVE is up a total of 15 cents today, hardly a reaction to NOT making a move that the market would have seen as nothing short of a disaster....dwdc

CVE would never have bought Irving refinery, it makes no sense.  Their existing downstream capacity almost matches the upstream.  There model is to have downstream hedge the upstream for WCS spread.  adding another 300k in refining makes 0 sense
