OFAC Victimizes Millions

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/ofacs-banality-evil-small-us-agency-victimizes-millions-foreign-innocents

The above article details the United States Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) role in the improvishment, persecution, and death  of innocent citizens around the world.  The article details three examples.

Nicaraguan people are one in a long documented history of OFAC's victimization of people around the world.

OFAC is just one aparatus in executing US foreign policy for global domination. US has targeted many countries for regime change that dared not to fall in line.

The United States attempted regime change with Nicaragua after President Daniel Ortega lead socialists ousted the authoritarian repressive US supported Somoza family after 43 years of rule (1936 to 1979) during which the Somoza's pilaged the wealth of Nicaragua leaving ordinary citizens improvished, starving, and dying.  See Wikipedia articles below.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somoza_family

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicaragua%E2%80%93United_States_relations

The United States supported the Somoza dictatorship because it was in their political and commercial interests.  There was money in it for them.

A current example of Untied States at regime change is Ukraine.  The history is documented and can be found on-line.  As a result of U.S. effort at using the Ukraine in a proxy war pursant to a geopolitical policy at containment of Russia and China hundreds of thousand of soliders have died and millions of innocent civilians dislocated, injuried, strarviing, or killed.  NGOs were implicated in the United States efforts in Ukraine regime change.  It is in the commercial interests of the United States to impede the rise of a united Eurasian global competitor.

Daniel Ortega's governance is far from ideal but in the context of history and comparative to what went before it is a big improvement.

Calibre mining is making a significant contribution to the welfare of the people of Nicaragua.  Had Calibre been operating in the Somosa days the money generated from mining operations would have gone into Somoza pockets and foreign friends of the Somozas.

Given the United States activities in Nicaragua and many other countries around the world the United States Department of State claim is to "improve the prosperity and security of the Nicaraguan people and a return to democratic governance" is discreditable. See the U.S. Department of States view of Nicaragua.

https://www.state.gov/u-s-relations-with-nicaragua/

For critical reading note the absence of the United States history of lucrative rewards and distructive interventions for supporting the former Somoza dictorship that now continue with talk about their championing democracy in the interests of the Nicaraguan people.

The United States interest in Nicaragua is a potential canal route across the isthmus and its natural resources like the gold Calibre is mining, other minerals, and agricultural land a large portion of which the United States controlled in the Somosa days.
.
The United States concurrent with geopolitical interests are Ukraine minerals and agricultural land that are the collateral backing the loans being made for Ukraine's war

For example, Ukraine had a law that barred big foreign agricultural giants buying up rich agricultural grain land. President Volodymyr Zelensky did away with that.  Blackrock and J.P. Morgan will benefit from that and rebuilding of the Ukraine. Zelensky is selling off the countries assets. See the following Google search of Blackrock:  It is good business to have a debtor country you can pillage.

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Blackrock+interest+in+the+Ukraine

The United States is not backing Zelensky for the sake of democracy and the well-being of ordinary Ukraines. All that war funding is being put up to eventually close on the collateral bedammed how many people die in the process.

While Ortega is far from ideal, the United States track record says the real threat to Nicaragua and Calibre comes from outside, from the United States.  Take a look at all the devastation the United States has reaped in countries around the world. Devastation abounds in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Afganistan, Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba and a long list of other countries.

As an example U.S intervention, the U.S. placed secondary sanctions on two Canadian companies for unproven support of Russia.  Innocent Canadian workers at those companies are impacted.

Sounds mild.  The United States would never invade Canada. Ya they would. At the end of WWII in 1945 the Pentagon had devised a plan to invade Canada.  The invasion plan was to poison everyone in Montreal, Toronto, and Vacouver.  Remember it became acceptable at that time to kill whole populations of civilians like the atomic booming of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

They did invade Canada once before - War of 1812.

History matters. I am on the side of peace and have blame for all the deplorable humans in this world who take sides to champion conflict rather than peace.
