Nasdaq Biotechnology Index inclusion Dec 21

Please re-read today's news. I would hate to be short cxr going into 2016. All I can say is CREDIBILITY.

posters do not seem to realize that being included in the index is a double edged sword.

it is prone to the ups and downs of the index; a 2 way street.

[/quote Slightfan, Yup I agree with you on that if investors see the NBI as overvalued one day we would be susceptible to a negative feedback loop.  But our stock price has never been determined solely by its intrinsic value anyways - we are and will always be susceptible to the Martin Skhreli's and the Philador's of the world, regardless if we are part of the index or not, IMO ...more

Slightfan, no I'm not aware of the other edge of the sword that you allude to.  What are your concerns?  I am only thinking that being included in the Biotech index will give increased exposure to potential international investors.   Business communities around the world are attracted to the index's value proposition and trading venue and can only increase our reach around ...more

Initially, being part of the Index should be very positive because all the healthcare funds that include biotech stocks will have to purchase CXR in quantity to meet their percentages. This includes many ETFs that are huge in the amount of many billion dollars. It would be interesting to track the effect on the stocks that were recently included in said index.
