STOCKCOACH

What I am saying is that CXR is computer traded to the tune of the IBB.

If IBB ticks up, then computers start buying CXR and others in the IBB.

Is disassociates itself  from the iBB at earnings time and when there is an upgrade.

Otherwise, computers buy CXR and others with up and down ticks of IBB

Faulty logic. Why would anything be different if CXR wasn't included in IBB basket? Nothing actually. Algos and computers could just as easily buy and sell CXR when IBB upticks or downticks whether or not it is included in the IBB portfolio. You might as well say that because all apples are fruits, then all fruits must be apples!

Well argentina, just look at the minute action. Put on chart IBB against the other CXR. After you do that, tell me that I am wrong. BUT LOOK FIRST please. I am tellin you, that is what is happening. Look please at the two charts. please

That correlation is not because CXR is included in the IBB portfolio which is what you were saying in previous posts. It could be similarly correlated to the extent it is even if CXR was only trading in Canada. High speed computer trading and algos don't discriminate. Look at any other health care peer not included in IBB and you'll find similar correlation.

I agree but it still means that CXR is only as good as IBB. If IBB doesn't go anywhere this year, CXR won't do what we expect it to do.

FD at this point I don't know how to convince you that IBB is only a reflection of its underlying stocks. IBB is simply an index just as the Dow and TSX are indexes. The combined stocks within the index reflect the price of that index. Today the IBB index closed up 1.55% yet CXR closed down .40%. So contrary to what you say there is divergence between individual stocks and the IBB index. & ...more

Stockcoach1 - I totally agree with you on this one. It is market sentiment right now - people using their emotions rather than using their head

I don't know what's so hard to understand about this. The stocks within IBB determine it's price, not the other way around. If somebody can't understand this, they don't have a very good understanding of the stock market in general.

The stocks within IBB determine it's price, not the other way around. I agree but when IBB goes up (or the leaders of the IBB, meaning the highest %weight stocks), then computers are programmed to buy the others like CXRX and down, vice versa. Computers buy and sell 70% of trades and they follow the weighted stocks in the IBB wiht CXR following it. All you have to do is check, The ...more

Well, I think that IBB is one of the best to be associated with historically last five years. Short-term Hillary is having effect, but misguided against R&D companies such as Celgene, etc. IBB and CXR will rebound soon.
