Shorts need to cover

but no one willing to give up their shares. Could see a squeeze soon IMO. CXRX short interest data for Feb 12 published Wed after close. Will be interesting to see where it is going. Real-time data would be better but only available to the big boys.

With the low volume (and that likely much of that just recycled shares), I can't see the shorts able to cover without a fair appreciation in SP. Starts tomorrow with the NY Investors Conference where CXR will likely re-affirm 2016 guidance and leading up to reporting day. Likely in between they will squeeze in a debt payment date and potentially a small product acquisition and/or release of on ...more

LOL! Must be something behind it as it is up nicely on the day when markets including iBB are down.

Easy to blame shorts for the stock price going down. But they are not short for no reason. They are short because they expect the stock price to go down, and they are betting a lot of money it does. You have to ask yourself what do they know that you do not!

The shorts know how to distort and fabricate stories and plan attacks at opportune times. Some are not smart enough to realize when to cover their positions and go long is the better plan.

IMO you are right to a degree. Shorts are no different than longs in many respects. They look at general market/sector sentiment momo, look for a company with low float ideally, and actively manage the price lower when needed. Long MM do the same thing - its called distribution I believe. The dissemination of negative innuendo is the distasteful aspect of short strategy I have a problem with. Then ...more

You have some valid points, but what you fail to mention is that the shorts are a lot more sophisticated then you lead us to believe. It is simply not true that they have limited ammunition. In fact shorts are generally the well equipped hedge funds that spend millions on their state of the art millisecond trading platforms to outdo their other hedge fund competitors. Their huge investment in ...more

So Simul: What you are saying is that you and your shorty buddies know more about Concordia business than all the analysts and fund managers who are also making large investments for their fund and their bank clients, and have gone to great lengths to go through financials, talk to executives of the company and visit facilities, etc.? Shorts just make noise and trade in organized and unethitical ...more

They know nothing. Nothing more then anyone else. They have made a bet. They are betting that they can make money off of 'nervousness' for the next couple of weeks until the Q4 and year end are released. They hope and intend to cover before that news sends cxr back toward where it should be. And where it should be is far higher then this current disinfo based ridiculously low level ...more
