Doubt this sees under 40.00

Very doubtful this sees under $40 Canadian in the near future. As someone mentioned the Gap was filled it looks like they will move this to the $46 level fairly quickly. For those thinking otherwise, probably short or now scared to get in on this new valuation.

he's got a point. usually the small guy gets screwed in the stock market. and i would be surprised if it any different this time.

Its called risk/reward balance. Until a deal is announced, there is a risk it will not happen. Upside $75CD. Downside $30. Considering many of us held at $30 a couple times already, the upside reward is much more alluring than the downside risk. Throw in a lot of shorts managing against runaway and here we are.

then again blackstone has been mentioned and they probably would've dismissed the rumors if they were untrue. and they haven't done that. they're a firm with deep pockets and a reputation to uphold.

Benny makes a good point... retail investors usually get screwed so it is a bit odd that they're letting the little guy rack up a position. I don't think anyone would sell under $50 so if the market really believed a takeover price is immmenient, I would've thought shares would be around $45 to $50 mark. f_the_banker also raises a good point with blackstone being a reputable firm with ...more

You do know that this development has been in the works for a couple of weeks now and was only released because of the leak which they had to respond to. This was supposed to be the ultimate short trap as one day we wake up with an announcement of sale with a firm offer price. Today we saw a lot of small share buy/sell orders as the shorts tried to manage the price as they usually do. Market will ...more
