for those doubting the brilliance of Lettuce, I only suggest you go to a couple of her earlier posts - she will shrewdly give you 1.5 plus British pound notes for every Greenback you offer. so, if you plan on going to the UK this summer, I recommend you forgo your normal bank, who try to hose you by taking almost US$ 1.5 for every one of those pound notes you need.
