the inside story on price increases at CXR

people have been beating the drum...CXR is not like VRX....well they are!

Apparently it somewhat is like VRX. It raises prices too. Who knew!

Detailed on BNN by Amber Kanwar... from Financial Times(London)report ...CXR they too raise prices on such things as eye drop meds (2 to 29 pounds sterling),  a hyperthyroidism drug went up 5 fold, 2 high blood pressure drugs went up in price...174 & 152 %. Study done for FT by RX savings grp which tracks such things.

BNN interviewed the CEO of CXR on Oct.21 when the short report (by citron) on VRX came down & CXR was also taken down in share price. At that time the CEO was asked how much has CXR ever increased a drug's price  & his answer was 100%.

The CEO at that time said that CXR does not rely upon a model (pricing) that takes geometric price increases. Their approach is volume based.

So some of CXR's drugs have been increased beyond what the CEO says was their practice. So the end of the story is that the CEO was not telling the truth.

You can view the video of the 'CLOSE' for May 2/2016 15:00 CST. Amber Kanwar's segment starts @ 25 min. mark

The stupid visine  (by johnson johnson) eye drop increase dramatically from 10 to 17 for 2 years.  i guess we still buy it.  3. Thank you for catching a statement that was not ...more

And pray tell, dumb one, was CXR selling any drugs in the UK  at that time( Oct 2015) and if so what were those drugs ? And what if they were ? The market has choices and if they don't ... Well it's the old law of supply and demand . Last time I looked, the latter was called capitalism ..got a problem with a CEO trying to maximize profits for his shareholders and pay a dividend ...more
