TpG

I am more convinced they are in the running

TPG makes more sense than Apollo!
Comment by CookieMonster on Jun 03, 2016 6:39pm
TPG made $5 Bln. On their Pharma sale to Endo last year.  That was more than a 4 bragger in 3 years for them.  They know the space.  They also just raised a $10.5 Bln. Lbo fund!

in that Reuters article they all sound like paisans. No wonder those three names were mentioned yesterday.. may be they are stalking for Takeda as yours truly Andrew McCreath hinted.. CB
Comment by Hateshorts on Jun 03, 2016 7:38pm
as point out in the articles TPG was in the running yet the articles ignored that name. I think they are looking to buy
Comment by Hateshorts on Jun 04, 2016 9:51am
read the articles. Tpg in the running in my view
Comment by Hateshorts on Jun 04, 2016 10:23am
my guess is they will use the 10 billion fund
Comment by Hateshorts on Jun 04, 2016 12:56pm
getting more confident the more research I do on them

Would you shell out billions after sitting at home this weekend and digesting two articles in major publications in which politcal action is threatening your takeover targets profitability, or would you just ignore it and hope it works out for the best? There is only one sane answer.
Comment by Hateshorts on Jun 04, 2016 1:45pm
yes I would.. tpg was will to take a risk with valent shorty
Comment by Craigbad on Jun 04, 2016 2:21pm
I'm not short, but these articles are quickly changing my outlook. It was easier to ignore the Financial Times article as it looked like a puff piece for the shorts, but The Times and The Daily Mail articles just released clearly put the Amdipharm business in the crosshairs of the UK government. This is becoming alot harder to ignore and could have very real implications for profitability. Not ...more

CRAIG.... This is about the 5th time you are talking about the same article... You think the more you mention it ,the more you will influence the market? What a moron.
Comment by Craigbad on Jun 04, 2016 7:06pm
Yes, i'm delusion and think 50 people reading a bullboard actually affects the stockprice. Or maybe i'm concerned that our UK brand, Amdipharm, has been soiled in two international publications this weekend and the government MP's are furious and want action from the health minister. Quite frankly i'm disgusted by this type of business practice and i'm venting. It may have been ...more

Craig.... Ok I give up... That's the 6th time you are repeating yourself.... Another moron on iggy
Comment by adamchess on Jun 05, 2016 3:59am
Sorry Craigbad but everything we buy is pretty well made for a fraction of what we pay for it. Get over it. Government is the most pretentious organization of all. As for shareholders... hopefullty management knows what side their bread is buttered on.How to justify making big money on stocks in a couple of days, hours, minutes?

Drug companies that raised the price of medicines by up to 12,500 per cent could face multimillion-pound fines after the government called in the competition watchdog. Jeremy Hunt, the health secretary, asked the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) urgently to examine evidence uncovered in an investigation by The Times, which revealed that a select group of entrepreneurs had made a ...more

Not sure if you read the articles Hateshorts. Two international publications have exposed 4 companies in the Uk, of which Amdipharm is one, who were changing the names of medications to bypass their pricing contracts. Price jacking is one thing but this looks awful sleazy and has the public and politicians up in arms. If i had a contract to sell you potatoes for $4 a bag and then I changed the ...more

Graigbad: all noise.  No one can tell a public company how to price their products. Most of their medications have alternative ones. If you don't like the price buy the other guys drugs.  This is a boring over recycled matter and no one cares anymore. It's all manufactured news as this battle between politicians and drug makers is 100 years old and guess who always wins.
Comment by Craigbad on Jun 04, 2016 3:59pm
In general i agree Roller, but this looks a little different than just price increases. Taking the same product and changing the label to rook the government out of millions is a little different in my opinion than good ol capitalism. Why not just increase prices instead of these underhand maneuvers. This smells very bad when you burn one of your biggest customers in this way and get caught.
Comment by CNInvesting on Jun 04, 2016 4:04pm
Agreed that is smells bad, but it's been known all along which is why it's really weird. This so-called ''loophole'' was unknown until now you think ? Of course not! The NHS evaluated, accepted, and paid for those meds all along! Is it bound to change ? Perhaps. Will it be any different in a year ? Perhaps or perhaps not. This whole thing is a scandal until it isn't ...more

If someone pulled this cr@p on me they'd be off my vendor list in a heartbeat and i would want vengeance. I wouldn't be suprised if they get thrown off the Nhs vendor list. With all this public attention the politicians will HAVE to do something to show accountability, the public will demand it. I'm sure the other generic companies can fill the void. Either MT knew or he didn't but ...more

Another way t look at this is what someone said on the board. If the big MAC costs $12 and is too expensive, then go buy a WHopper for $4. You are not obligated to get the big mac

I agree, but who will replace them ? We know there already is competitive products on the market. Guess what, they're not priced more attractively! The NHS doesn't have an endless list of sellers to buy from and they have to select those that are the best for the needs of the consummers also. It's not just about price, there's also the benefit of the product at stake. I'm not ...more

Read the article in question fully and you will see at the bottom where it reads " The tactics of the companies involved are entirely legal". All they did was raise the price of certain drugs through legal and proper channels that the government created. End of story.
