Why would they do that ?

Well then, TitanicMan,  somebody is lying, or at least is mistaken. A publicly-listed company cannot enter the market and purchase its own stock without announcing its intention to do so and obtaining regulatory approval in advance.  I do not remember CXR ever making such an announcement. Sometimes what you will see is a "Normal Course Issuer Bid" (NCIB) announced, under ...more
