MAJOR slump for REITS

One bad day/news away from from many CAD reit names hitting ALL TIME LOWS.  Let that sink in.  Having that DIR cashed in at $14.50 could have added some seirous support

Management doesn't care about "supporting" the stock price when it is trading at dirt cheap valuations.  And that goes for all companies in which management owns a significant percentage of the shares.  They are all too happy to scoop up the bargain priced shares that short term traders are dumping. The value proposition here is mouth watering - still not as good as H&R REIT imho - but, captivating nonetheless. (I've done the math - see @alphafortuna). When the Snakey's of the world cry, it only means real investors are holding and accumullating. Snakey would believe the NCIB is a mechanisim to prop up the unit price, whereas I'm sure many here understand, its simply a tool ...more

I think downtown Toronto real estate is very different even to New York real estate. Canada is experiencing record immigration and population growth with around 30% choosing to settle in Toronto and more still choosing to settle nearby in the GTA and quite possibly still working in Toronto.
