Mixed bag in housing starts

CMHC reports the annual pace of housing starts in March declined 7% compared with February. Year-over-year figures, actual housing starts in large urban centres were up 16%. Don, I think the first drop in interest rates is going to be a kick-start for housing starts in Canada and Canada appears to be the site where the first rate cut will take place. Our U.S. side is going to take longer but that too should happen, and when it does it will be a boost to Doman's activities south of the border.

  what is not included in any of those figures is renovations and people upgrading their homes EG: decks,fencing, etc.whoch I think is going to be a bigger market this year as people are staying put in the homes they have ?! we will find out in the last CC they mentioned that buissness in Ontario had picked up quite a bit but again q1 financial with forward guidance will tell the tale
