it's been a remarkable bull run.  I have to think a pullback is inevitable but even still, I'm feeling bullish.  A divvy next month is probably still unlikely but it's not crazy sounding anymore. :)

Previously I thought a pullback would have occurred sometime between the US election result and January. But it didn't materialize. The vax rollout is now underway and progressing nicely in the US, about 1.5 mln/day compared to our measly 1.5 mln in total over 2 mths. But, as the US market goes so do we. With all these new covid variants, we are not out of the woods just yet. Plus, the re ...more

Don't fight the Fed.  We're in a liquidity bubble for at least a year. Physical stuff like sticks, bricks, stones and oil by rail are going to do well.  That's why I'm here, the rails are going to do amazing business as the restocking cycle gets going........................
Comment by mouserman on Feb 13, 2021 8:08pm
Yes i do believe the rail cos. will do well....and anything to do with green energy as well. With the inflation that is sure to come, ( already has  for many items- lumber for instance, those commodities  involved in infrastructure spending should do well. DGS has a good mix of stocks, and just recently got back into the banks... a little late to the party.  DGS had quite a bit ...more

We don't need 30% - 40% upside. A rough 7% increase in the NAV will easily propel the share price by 20-25%%. This will then be fairly priced.

I was talking about another 30- 40% for the banks/lifecos, wont be as easy from here. DGS could get that out of their portfolio if this  bullmarket really gets going. I still think we see a major correction this spring. Especially if the vaccines continue to show ineffectiveness.

Where are you reading that the vaccines are ineffective?

Israel leads the globe in vaccinations and the results are promising. "0 virus deaths reported from 520,000 given the Pfizer vaccine in Israel" https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/pfizer-93-effective-israel-0-deaths-520000-maccabi-2021-2%3Famp

Its not something the media wants to highlight, seems they are intent on scaring the public into vaccinations. In Israel the  vaccinations have decreased serious symptoms, deaths and hospitalizations, so in that sense they are effective. But as far as i can tell from other sources, the vaccine does NOT stop the spread of the virus. In Kamloops we had a huge outbreak in the hospital, those ...more

With vaccinations covid can be kept under control. I believe only 2 diseases have been completely erradicated, smallpox and rinderpest. Polio, measles, rubella are still circulating but we don't fear these as much since we have herd immunity thanks to vaccinations. Just look at tuberculosis, a respiratory disease spread similarly like covid person to person through the air and those with ...more

I na couple years I might consider it... but i am not willing to be a guinea pig for a new vaccine that is NOT time tested. mRNA is scary tech... dont know how it affects the immune system for other diseases. MAybe COVID will be held at bay, but cancer will increase,  who knows..... i certainly dont. Very early in the huge  vaccination  human experiment that is  happening.

Depends on your age and personal health. If you have a Tom Brady regiment and lifestyle you should be fine. If not, I believe the risk of not taking the vaccine is greater than taking it.
