Recession?
I don't think I've ever read of a major recession, historically, where the unemployment levels are at a historical low like we have today. My company, a fortune 500 company in the transportation sector is struggling to find labour. Key positions are empty for months on end. Oh and we pay very well and have great benefits. No one seems to want to work.

TV stations interviews of the man on the street say they're all broke. And yet there's pent up demand for cars and vacations. I've never seen a recessionwith pent up demand.

Yes and try to get a quote to have any work done on your home, virtually every trade is backed up months from now.

Isn't the recession projected to be not until 2023. Since 2008 interest rates have been kept artificially low which has juiced the economy and housing prices. Covid and government Covid stimulus spending has thrown a unprecedented curve into the mix too. The recession, if it happens, is in the very beginning stages.

We only need another negative quarter of gdp to be in a recession by definition. The fed is trying to squash excess demand while keeping the employment in tact. They are also not planning on keeping QT around for long. They will pivot and send the market upward yet again.
