Green shoots?

Dow up 300 the day after the FED pause. A quick look at some of the top headlines and it's everything green including a rocket launch of an IPO, the first major one after a long drought.

The stellar U.S. performance since the October lows is a classic example of how markets are largely sentiment-driven rather than data-driven. It is often the case that investors have made up their minds whether to buy or sell prior to market-moving news, so it almost didn't matter what was announced yesterday - the markets were virtually destined to continue their bull run today in any event ...more

I would say the lowest unemployment rates since the 50's is the strongest data point there is for a resilient consumer and why markets thus far have avoided recession. A recession is inevitable but just don't see it happening this year, otherwise the FED and BoC would not be forecasting higher rates still.
