Anecdotal evidence
I spent $1500 at Mr Lube today, money that would normally have gone to a local mechanic. Historically, I've only used Mr Lube for an oil change, but this year I am using them for most things. If I'm any way typical it helps explains the large increase in comp sales and the potential for a lot of growth. To me, it makes whatever happens to Air Miles somewhat of an irrelevance. And who knows, the BMO acquisition could even breathe new life into the old girl.
I'm not currently invested in DIV by the way, although I have in the past, but my finger is on the trigger.

Evidence that the average spend per visit is dramatically higher than it used to be, because Mr Lube is offering far more services now than just an oil change and other basic services.

What did you have done? $1500 sounds very high. There are only so many fluids and filters on a vehicle.
