Payday? iTrade falls short

Others got paid on Thursday, I believe? While I got distributions from other dividend payers (BRE, SRV and CHE) on Friday morning at around 4 am, the DIV payment did not show up. And it probably won't now until Tuesday morning.

Anyone else have a similar experience? This has happened a few times in the last year with Scotia iTrade and, though I don't really need the cash immediately, it is annoying enough to start looking  at other brokerages.

Any suggestions?

Don't stress just wait and hydrate. You will get it on Monday. I am missing SPG ( US market dividends)  scheduled to be paid on March 29 th. Trading with TD.

I believe it's a Scotia issue, as I have the same issue my DIV dividend, but I also have anouther name that hasn't show up yet also. i don't know that it's enough for me to switch brokerages, but I am frustrated with them. I personally wouldn't use a 'discount' or non-big bank brokerage just because if there are issues I'm dealing with more entities, I like ...more

No, the tardiness in paying hasn't been enough of an issue to make me switch brokerages. But the CRA warning the poster Allah_says_buy received might be enough of an insult to make me switch.  And, yeah, never an apology or explanation, let alone some kind of gesture like a few free trades.  If I had to make a loan payment to Scotia on Thursday but waited till Tuesday morning ...more

It's not just the missing payment for me.  I have DIV in a DRIP in my RSP. Scotia Itrade actually has a transaction where they took my money out to buy the new shares without the cash from the dividend beig paid yet. So I have this strange negative transaction in the account and they even sent me an email stating that I am in violation of CRA RSP rules when it was their fault. They do ...more

Ha Ha, I didn't say I don't drink... I said I don't drink beer.. I like Scotch, Whiskey, Sambuca, Rum, etc., but I don't drink often, I can't even think the last time I got into my collections of Laphorig or Glenlivet, I dunno if all those alcohols are included in the increase... As far as not driving, I'm a city dweller, pretty much all my work and life is within transit ...more

Wow you sound like a good citizen. It is amazing how some people can navigate and survive without car. My next door neighbour is like that. To be honest I don't know  how to buy a TTC ticket or connect to the other bus.I would have to look into it. Since 1989 I have been on the bus 2-3 times. No idea what was the occasion back then. Living in North York I used subway maybe 4-6 times. When ...more
