Discussion of Phoenix and Sput apparently
Comment by Born2Struggle2 on Sep 14, 2021 12:00pm
Apparently the 2.5M lbs is now worth 1/3 of the capital required to put Pheonix into production, we have received calls to "liberate" those lbs from market parcipitants. Not selling, that U is marked to develop the mine or sell with our production from the mine. Demonstrates how thin the U market is right now. (me paraphrasing) There is gonna be an epic rush to get lbs by buyers. JMO ...more

I wonder if those calls from market participants are utilities?
Comment by Born2Struggle2 on Sep 14, 2021 12:49pm
Bell actually asked him that and all he would commit to was "market participants" - my guess not them, yet. u c the "Guantlet is thrown down" over on the FCU board?

I pity Cates right now trying to figure out at: what price, how to structure an offtake. Trying to get a feel on how high the spot will go, worrying about leaving the table too soon. I wonder when we will start to see medium and longterm proces published - hasn't really happened yet so maybe inferring more credibility to the "Guantlet" scenario. But the leadership has been damn ...more

@Born2 Hold on a minute... the mining projects are not even cleared for construction yet so can they enter offtakes?
Comment by Born2Struggle2 on Sep 14, 2021 7:44pm
2.5 MM lbs in the bank will fuel about 5 reactors for 18 ish months. I also remember some years ago that DML entered into an offtake agreement with KEPCO, not sure if it is still in place or not. Pretty sure I saw that as a step in the process to get into production in their latest slide deck too. Another example of a company not in production but with an offtake in place is FCU.
