Cutting rates in the middle of an election cycle smacks of political shenanigans. Powell will have a hard time cutting rates as the world is heavily divesting itself of the USD all within the backdrop of the death of the petrodollar. Pop quiz:  if you are a shop owner and your inventory is building up, do you lower prices or raise prices?  Let's take this into context of the FED ...more

Sadly, my friend I disagree. There was no harm in starting a gradual 25 basis point cut in July and a wait and see. These next 7 weeks til Sept 17-18 will not be kind to the market, businesses, and the economy. Gold, Silver, and bonds are reacting positively already. The market is rolling over as we speak and miners roll with it, but traditionally only a 10% roll vs a deeper roll by general market ...more
