Things are going from bad to worse in Mexico

The last months have been terrible for investors holding Assets in Mexico, especially open pit mines needing permitting.

- Sheinbaum Landslide election victory confirms success of anti free markets, anti mining politics
- ALMO introduces legislative initiative just before leaving office, with terrible judicial reforms and open pit mining ban

The NEWEST they will LIKELY ACHIEVE the supermajority needed, see here: "Senators are now for sale: Morena may in fact hit the magic number for a super majority, they only need one more. see https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/nacion/presentan-como-parte-de-morena-a-2-senadores-electos-del-prd-falta-uno-para-tener-mayoria-en-senado/"

A little birdie told me that regardless of any politics and delays that may occur above ground in Mexico, the silver remains pristine and untouched below ground........and the value of it only increases year by year. Wait an extra year or two to mine it?  Great!  The value may double by that point!! If your scare tactics are shaking weak hands out of their shares, thank you as I was ...more

You dont even put any efforts into your posts, just pure garbage.  If the silver is not getting out its worthless, and it aint getting out under current ownership. Only under gov. ownership. Either way, its really bad and getting worse in Mexico.

Well, you sure are putting alot of "effort" into scaring shares out of weak hands. Allow me to educate you on the post..... If you believe (only an ignorant person would) that Mexico will ban, completely and forever, open pit mining you clearly do not understand how politics work.  But, you are not ignorant is my guess, rather you are trying to accummulate cheap shares from those ...more

Thats a far cry from your bullish nonsense you spewed over the last weeks.  From: This will get permitted to, this wont get permitted but sometime in the future it might. I.e. maybe in 6 years with a new government, however the way things are going the ruling party will never let go of power again. You are clueless, naive or a pumper.
Comment by dimitri4729 on Aug 28, 2024 6:15pm
You really hit the hammer on the head in your last comment.lol.I LIVE in Mexico and i can tell you that the average Mexican adores, reveres, and ABOVE all else, trusts the current party in power. It's just the way it is.Of course that is reflected in the election result. There is no way they're going to have just  one term in office.I wouldn't be surprised if they're in power for ...more

Politics, much like the wind, changes the direction it blows given time.  A few years ago, nobody was concerned about Mexican mining.  Now some are showing concern.  Nobody knows if a hiatus will ensue and it so for how long.  Short-term traders and investors dislike uncertainty.  The long term investors have a time horizon to weather storms. There is too much $$ involved ...more

Nonsense again to try to despserately pump this. There have been countless examples of a party staying in party for decades. It has only been 6 years (NO OPEN PIT PERMITS IN THAT TIME BTW!) and the party just got confirmed for another 6 in a LANDSLIDE victory. There is zero chance of an open pit silver mine  being approved in the next 6 year. And very likely after they are done with the ...more

I don't need to pump, the fact that there is 1 billion ounces of silver equivalent in the ground does all the talking for me. OK, let's say hypothetically that we are stuck with a project that is dormant for a decade.  OK, have you ever heard of a 10 or 20 year zero coupon bond?  You buy at such a deep discount that you make your bank roll at the end.  Many investors are ...more

So your new argument seems to be:  They wont get the permit in the next 6 years or maybe not even in the next decade, but lets just hope they wont expropriate us and we eventually do get the permit in 10 years time :D.  What a wild investment thesis. I dont think anyone that is sane would put money in this until they have a permit in hand.

Porc you may in the end be correct in your opinion, as the rest of the world watches with disbelief as the Mexican people give up democracy as well as international investment and descend back into chaos. (We also don't understand why you seem to rejoice in it)  Claudia is wrong!!!! You can't have both international investment / nearshoring and this version of Amlo's judicial ...more

You mean repercussions not reporductions.  But yes, it does seem like the Mexican people have gone full retard. And as everyone knows: "never go full retard".  But giving AMLOS party a landslide victory after what he has done is insane. And that insanity will now have consequences. The Mexican people just dont get that yet, otherwise they would have voted differently.
Comment by BaldSilverHead on Aug 29, 2024 3:41pm
Yes. Serious repercussions.
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Aug 29, 2024 5:51pm
Agreed, the populace it it chooses to go down a path that has less than desirable consequences would likely come to their senses and revert back onto a path of sensibility. Anyways, I was listening to a podcast yesterday from one of the metals analysts that I follow and he was discussing Disovery Silver.  He found it hard to believe that this project will not get permitted.  He said it ...more
