Vantive In Play

Now that Baxter has disclosed that Vantive is in play does that put Spectral in play?  We don't have all the details of the Baxter/Vantive deal with Spectral so we can only go with the 20 year exclusive rights to EAA and PMX with each party getting around a third of the revenue.  No other details given so we can assume that Baxter/Vantive do not have any other material rights or preemptive rights with Spectral.

So if private equity is now sniffing around would they be aware of our little gem?  If they read the Vantive material they would see EAA and PMX featured so likely would ask the question and be given answers.  Would they recognize the extent of achievements and where we are with Tigris?  Would they also conclude that success is highly probable?  Would they view doing a takeover of Spectral as a win-win with very low risk?  If they buy Spectral now and also succeed in buying Vantive they would have strong cashflow from both on the same product.  If they don't buy Vantive but do buy Spectral they would have that strong cashflow with Vantive doing all the heavy lifting for them.

This is a very interesting development.  Is this unknown wallflower about to come of age?  Private equity can smell money and they go after what they want.  Time to fasten our seatbelts as this could become quite interesting.  Thoughts and comments from all the real shareholders are invited.

"Would they view doing a takeover of Spectral as a win-win with very low risk? " This is where the issue of Spectral withholding interim Crude Data becomes the issue. Without disclosure no buyer can know how low of risk it is.  This is good for Baxter/ Vantive as it keeps PMX hidden- but not good for Spectral/ shareholders. "If they don't buy Vantive but do buy Spectral ...more

I haven't heard that term in a while AP, nice reference to what is happening here.  Blue Horseshoe loves Spectral Medical LOL.  I think your reference is totally on point, I think we are "in play."  And to take it one step further, I don't think Vantive would be in play without PMX/EAA linking all that harmony/synergy between Prismax and Oxiris and all the medical ...more

Very interesting ! Lots can happen here, some of it may be "even better" than we thought.    Baxter is a small fry in the brontosaurus burger biz. ie dialysis.  And the Home market hasn't really developed yet. If they get an offer they can't refuse for that peice, I can't blame them for taking it.  Another possibility that hasn't been ...more

Games are played, but EDT is not a player, they sold that right for nothing, remember? But hey, it's all about saving lives for us, not equity.

It seems like they are on the same page as Spectral was, when they cut the lion's share of the Kidney program to Baxter. 30% is still enough for a taste for Spectral, and allows them to focus on the home stretch for PMX approval.  Baxter seems like an 'also ran' in the Kidney market. They have a lot of competition for dialysis treatments. If they go 'all in' with ...more

Thx Mac  Yes either the Vantive spin-off or the non-competitive divisional sell-off, will raise capital for two purposes : 1. debt reduction  2. take-overs of some higher margin businesses ( like say, idunno the NA rights to PMX)  If the sell-off becomes a more lucrative option than the spin-off option, then they will go for that and then there will be that much more money ...more

MM, don't feel obligated to respond, but I thought in the past postings (long while back), I thought I read you might be a CFA or CPA.  Am I correct or did am I mixing you up with another on this board. Again, if you don't care to respond, no worries.  I ask, as you have the CPA/CFA speak.
