Worthwhile speculation
The removal of the stock from the Toronto index a little while back caused hardly a ripple. Something like 7 million shares traded market-on-close, and the price barely moved.
As of first thing Monday AM, EDV is part of the FTSE 100. This will probably be managed with no great impact as well. But maybe not. I interpreted the CEO's comments at Denver as 10 % of the stock needed to be bought by indexers. That would be 25 million shares.
If true, that might provoke a gain of a pence or three. Maybe.

Hi templetooth, Unfortunately EDV's market cap. is not quite big enough (yet!) for FTSE100 entry but it does join the FTSE250 index on Monday. Over 11m shares changed hands in the closing auction in London today, at a price of £17.40 (=C$30.48). Cheers, Mark

I also observe that over the last 6 months EDV is up 16.7% whereas the GDX is down 9.0%. Perhaps the London listing wasn't such a bad idea, after all. ;-)
