Completely sick

The stock is down 22% since the report and everybody seems to think it's ok. What is the manipulation behind the move? It's amazing. There is not a single bounce, it's just down every hour, every day. The chart is so linear downwards. Everyday the open is the high of the day, and the close is the low. It's sick.

Whatever the gold price, whatever the peers' move. Look. Today, yesterday... GDX up, Endeavour down. What's wrong? It's frustrating. I've lost so much money on the shitty stock. There seems to be no bottom. Not a single buyer is showing up. The stock has been going down 20 days in a row almost. It's sick.

I have taken the liberty of filing a complaint/sternly worded letter on your behalf to the TSX and LSE ... 20 days! ... it's truly sick bro !  They should have pre-warned us.  Not even a dead cat bounce! This isn't just a buyers strike, it's a buyers conspiracy... against EDV   We must demand and receive a full explanation for this most blatant manipulation ...more

Totally agree mman.  But I think we should go furthur than that and launch a class action.  Against everyone who hasn't bought EDV at these ridiculously low prices .  Gold is mostly steady, and EDV down down down.  Nary a up day to keep our faint hopes alive.  Where will it end?  When will it end?  And of course why will it end?  And we all know all ends ...more

Ha ha! Good you still have faith and sense of humour over the worst investment in my whole life. Cheers.

You must be very young, very lucky or have never invested in a gold related stock for any duration of time. $35 to $27 is childs play.  May you live in interesting times. tC

Well, yes , galnakon, it could be joking and trying to laugh to keep the tears away.   But just think, you could have bought Bitcoin at $65,000! I  have  a start price on EDV of about $8, I think it is.  I came to EDV when they bought out Avion.  You would have needed to buy EDV in 2008 , when it was more than a $100 from the long term charts, ,when it was a ...more

We could have a contest here for 'Worst ever Investment in Gold".   Something to take our minds off EDV.  Something to laugh about.  I need that.  The tears are starting to form a liitle in the back of my eyes when I see the latest EDV price.   The best stories would be ones with intrigue, maleficence, even death (think Bre-X for the oldies) .  A ...more

High River Gold theft by Severstal

wow - that brings back memories! I remember being at a shareholder meeting in Toronto where they had hired Russian goons in attendance. Thankfully my entry point in High River was low.

Admittedly it's not a gold stock, but a company that I once invested in on London's AIM market, called RCG, has to take the prize for biggest intrigue. Much of the story is related here, at the time when things unravelled: https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2010-02/05/content_9431463.htm It turned out that whilst us dumb investors thought that RCG was a legit and successful company ...more

Gold investors just jittery over the trajectory of real rates. I heard an interview with chief fixed income strategist at HSBC yesterday, says there's no way fed can raise rates into the 2's without destroying the economy. Then you've got the ex NY fed chair saying Powell will raise well into 2's to curb inflation. Two smart guys, two opposite opinions on inflation, rates etc. It ...more

It's probably already too late to tame inflation.... or it will require some rather extreme medicine.  Some of us are old enough to remember Paul Volker the Fed Chair in the late seventies and early eighties. They had to raise the Fed rate past 15%  to quell inflation !   That's what it took ... however back then they actually had an option to do so, since the Government ...more

I think you are totally correct MM that the Fed and other central banks can't do anything like they did in early 1980.  At that time, where I was anyway, the economy went from flat out boom to totally dead in a matter of weeks.   I am not sure what the limit would be on house mortgages in Canada , before the banks that hold those mortgages would need bailouts: maybe double ...more

I agree MM, Powell needs to be aggressive, so for now the focus is on rising nominal rates and the question of whether inflation will stick or fade, and for gold - whether reals will stay negative. Tough call, lot of v intelligent people have opposing views. I don't see gold doing much until the market gets clarity on the above over the coming months
