Sumitomo to supply battery materials for Tesla Model 3
https://cleantechnica.com/2016/02/26/tesla-model-3-battery-materials-supplier-ramping-up/ Sumitomo Metal Mining has revealed as part of its most recent 3-year business plan that it will be boosting production of NCA materials lithium-nickel-cobalt-aluminum-oxide materials used in lithium-ion battery cathodes in anticipation of supplying Tesla during Model 3 production Its interesting to note that Sumitumo Metal Mining has a 32.5% interest in the large Ambatovy Nickel, Cobalt Mine in Madagascar. It seems to indicate that Tesla will obtain some of its battery minerals from Madagascar. Hopefully, Tesla also looks to Madagascar for it's Large Flake Graphite as well as Battery Grade Vanadium needs that Energizer should be in a position to provide.
