I'm looking for a positive future
NYC plans to have an electoral storage goal. It covers all forms of storage . There has been pumped storage north of the city along the Hudson River for many years, but new projects require adequate land, but its not about the type of storage, its about the need. Surely large VRB storage will also be required. The NYC Transportation Authority presently has a VRB at its main office, while the fire department has reservations about mid sized Lithiums-ion storage systems in larger buildings.

The city government unveiled a storage goal of 100 megawatt-hours by 2020 last week, along with an expanded solar target of 1,000 megawatts by 2030. Storage, with its capacity to integrate variable wind and solar power sources into the grid, is expected to play a critical role in meeting the city's plans to cut greenhouse gases by 80 percent by 2050.
Storage experts told GTM that this is the first time a city has set such a target.
