Why does EDGAR confuse?

Goodman and Company's holding in Energizer Resources shares listed is still a total of 89,231,000 shares. However the two releases below can confuse one.

The Amended Statement of Ownership (sc 13g/a) dated 03/07/2017 at 2:16 PM stated that on August 17, 2016, which was the day before the news release concerning the purchase of Energizer Resources by Dundee's CMP 2016 Resource Limited Partnership -which includes, Goodman, Sprott and others- indicated that Goodman and Company held 45,714,286 shares of Energizer Resources

Another Statement of Ownership (sc 13g) dated 03/07/2017 at 2:14 PM stated that on August 17, 2016, the day before the news release concerning the purchase of Energizer Resources by Dundee's CMP 2016 Resource Limited Partnership -which also includes Goodman, Sprott and others- indicated that Goodman held 43,516,714 shares of Energizer Resources.

Notice that the the total number of shares held by Goodman (45,714,286 + 43,516,714) still adds up to 89,231,000 shares. Why has EDGAR waited until March 7, 2017 to announce such?

I was looking for at least 89,231,000 shares to make sure that Goodman hadn't sold or possibly bought more. When the link said that Goodman had 43,516,714 I was concerned and checked further and found the second link https
