Ryan Bushell - BNN - BUY ON WEAKNESS?

BUY ON WEAKNESS

Doesn't own it because it lacks a clear strategy, though they buy profitable businesses well. Can they sustain that? Appears to, based on their track record. He prefers safer investments with strong assets. He continues to watch this, maybe buy on dips.

I sensed a bit of regret here in that he missed the boat because he failed to recognize just how well they could purchase and integrate a variety of companies. GLTA

What a silly thing to say, " no clear strategy". It's a highly diversified industrial. That's the strategy. Buy and run profitable businesses . I like it!

My take is that early on, they had the legacy Airline business, and that left them exposed to high fuel costs, so they diversified into businesses that did well when Oil and Gas were doing well, (Hotsy, Ben machining etc.) because that is when their airlines are facing higher cost headwinds.  That was a strategic (countercyclical?) diversification.  That is no longer the case, but they ...more

Despite glowing analysts ratings and price targets, this stock has gone nowhere in the past few months and just can't break through $55...and then falls back again. Hopefully the upcoming quarterly results due out Aug 10th will put an end to this frustrating pattern. GLTA

Added to my position three times below 52.00 since the beginning of this pattern. If it breaks below 51.00, ready to buy more. Remember that the " big guys" bought at 52.25 (recent offering).  Anything below that is a great buying opportunity in my opinion.
