President Xi Jinping hosted the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing over the weekend, promoting his signature foreign policy of building massive infrastructure
and trade links across several continents.
The forum, attended by leaders and delegates of nearly 40 countries, came amid growing criticism of China's projects, including their effect on the environment.
Xi took the highly unusual step, for him, of meeting with international journalists, during which he repeated the slogan that he is committed to "open, clean and green development."
China is building or planning more than 300 coal plants in places as widely spread as Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt and the Philippines.
Days before the forum with its "clean and green" theme, the latest Chinese-built coal plant
opened in Pakistan
Bottom line: China has closed the 4 coal powered energy plants in Beijing so that its citizens don't die from pollution. Meanwhile, China has a different set of priorities for the rest of the world as it plans the construction of 300 new coal powered plants abroad.
Stickbot says my posts about China are racist. China clearly wants its domestic environment to be clean but doesn't give a cr*p about the rest of the planet. By definition, doesn't that make China the poster child of racism or genocide by extrapolation?
China continues to finance infrastructure around the world based upon its ability to pay off political influencers in the name of building out the middle class. No need to worry about GHG concerns as Europe and America will bankrupt themselves making up the difference so that coastal towns don't become part of the ocean.
Is Trudeau on a Chinese payroll? It seems like the $500mm offshore trust account that our fearless leader's papa built for him is not enough. That appears to have left the door open for China to include Canada in its journey to pay off political leaders around the world as part of its long term plan to dominate the planet.
Otherwise, it is difficult to understand why Trudeau would obligate Canadians to pay for the construction of a $12 billion pipeline designed to serve China who is flooding the planet with GHG while at the same time doing everything in his power to shut down the lifeblood of Alberta.
Who could blame Alberta if it decides to separate from Canada? If Alberta goes, does Saskatchewan go with it? If Alberta and Saskatchewan go, what does BC do? It obviously doesn't matter to Trudeau and his pals in Ottawa what the west does as the Liberals don't need or care about seats from Western Canada.
