Family Day

Thank goodness we get a Family Day holiday tomorrow that companies get to pay for. It is not like we haven't had about 350 family days in the last 12 months.

The 13-F reports for Q4 are due tomorrow but the NASDAQ site is updating now. Maybe the last of the institutions will all report over the weekend.

It would be ironic if BRK or another big player announced something and Canadians miss the oppotunity because of Family Day. I know that Canadians can trade on the NYSE, but how many would actually do that.

I don't expect Brookfield to be in the game, but it wouldn't surprise me as their swing at IPL is pocket change for them.

I suspect that fantome's guess about BRK or another giant is correct as anyone can bend the rules for as long as it takes by hiding behind custodial accounts until they are ready to announce their intentions.

We may know tomorrow. One thing for sure is that the nearly 80mm shares that traded in the 5 late day crosses last week is more than just institutions tidying up their books in the middle of a month and the middle of a quarter.

Good catch cttglvr. So the American does not have advantage. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I went through the NASDAQ institution holding. As Marner said Bank of Montreal had the biggest accumulation of 17M shares. It is nothing close to the sum of crosses in the quarter.
