Former Michigan governor and current U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm discusses the Enbridge Line 5 >> The decision is Biden's to take, not Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's decision.

In the 1977 Pipeline Transit Treaty, the US promised that no American “public authority” would “institute any measures” that “would have the effect of, impeding, diverting, redirecting or interfering with in any way the transmission of hydrocarbon in transit” unless there was a “natural disaster, an operating emergency, or other demonstrable need temporarily to reduce or stop for safety or technical reasons the normal operation of a pipeline.”

Supreme court in canada ruled that the carbon tax is constitutional because of the climate emergency. They can do the same in USA and for the same reason. You can use it to get away with pretty much everything, just like covid. It's for our own good according to guys like Fiddy

Regarding the US Supreme Court, of the 9 justices of the Supreme Court, 6 were appointed by a Republican president, and 3 were appointed by a Democratic president. I guess you never know, but this is an International treaty, and International arbitrage will be required.

So far they've been left leaning and silent on a lot of issues, even someone like Kavanaugh who got dragged through embarassing hearings by democrats. I'm not that skeptical but I won't put it past them to succumb to the climate change craze. On a side note it looks like Texas is doing great for covid cases since they opened everything up.
