I always find it interesting that so many investors fail to factor dividends into the equation. ENB may be at the same price that it was in Oct 2017 but during that time an investor would have collected $9.37 in divys per share.  I know that looks bad compared to many other stocks but it sure beats the h*ll out of a GIC.  Also, you did have a bit of bad timing if you bought in 2017 so ...more

He Sarge, I agree to a point. I am a LONG time holder of Enbridge and have added on weakness over the years. Since I was originally buying in the highlow teens and low 20s I am pretty happy. Despite that, they sure do not have an impressive SP growth over the past 6 years. Yes a guy earns a very good dividend, but that is effectively all of the return becasue with the exception of buying dips, you ...more

Hey Dean I totally agree that ENB has had way more drama than any other midstreamer. It started with the Spectra take-over and moved on to line 3 and line 5 hassles. TRP has had its issues as well especially Keystone XL but also Energy East and Coastlink. It seems the bigger guys have more hassles (excluding those twits at IPL) but they are also so big that they seem to be able to absorb/handle ...more

Speak for yourself. If you got in at the worst time, that doesn't mean none of us have made money. I got into Enbridge in the october/november 2020 period. My Average cost is around $39. I'd say I'm doing very well.
