Yeah, yeah, check the MSDS sheet already. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium_amyl_xanthate Safety[edit] The LD50 is 480 mg/kg (oral, rat). [3] It is a biodegradable compound.

And even if the fire only involves potassium amyl xanthate, although biodegradable, that compound is also flagged as an enviromental hazard. I would imagine that's why this fire made the news headlines.... Hazards GHS pictograms
