3 percent barely keeps up to the rate of inflation, but it's better than nothing I suppose.  Certainly a far cry from the 10 %  hikes ENB was handing out just a couple of years ago. Ahhh, the good old days...

3% is on the low side again but their yeild is very competative in the sector and the market overall still. I am still trying to wrap my head around the 1.5 Billion NCIB. I know they do not have to buy any but it does give them a lot of flexability to return value to shareholders and control the share price with changing market conditions.  I am betting they wish they had it in place last ...more

The market this morning acted as expected.  The big question is will it sustain the momentum, or will it be just a one day pop followed by a pull back tomorrow ?   Remember, after the last earnings ENB popped 3 %, and that was immediately followed by an 11 % pull back, so don't get too excited just yet.... Maybe you should apologize to the board for your propagating of the omicron fear, and going as far as suggesting the doctor in south africa lied about its transmissibility so that travel won't be affected. When are you gonna stop drinking the kool aid and do some real research Fiddy? Copy and pasting articles only goes so far it seems...

I guess you did not join the webcast. They have no interest in increasing the div 10% in the future, it's already high enough. Monaco is a great CEO. It was a great presentation, I would have bought more if I could have funds available. He puts the shareholders at ease for sure. He said they are not happy with the s/p and that the 3% div increase + share repurchase program will bring max ...more

SILKOS - If you are THAT stoked about ENB, you could have bought more on margin.  What's your margin interest rate, like 3 % ?  Borrow at 3 % to get a dividend of 6 %, not to mention the interest on your margin balance is tax deductable.  No brainer, right ? Not interested in 2-3 % gains, you can find GICs for that. Even on private mortgage market you find 10% annual intest (even RRSP/TFSA eligible) investments, why do you waste time talking about / chasing 2-3% profits?

2-3 % gains in a GIC ?  I call bull$hit on that. Silkos wrote:"Not interested in 2-3 % gains, you can find GICs for that. Even on private mortgage market you find 10% annual intest (even RRSP/TFSA eligible) investments, why do you waste time talking about / chasing 2-3% profits?"

Have no idea what GICs pay these days. Obviously you do. Anyway, I have no intention to start discussing GICs, I hope you got the idea in the first place that is not worth investing in the market for 3% gains. Just my opinion.

SILKOS - If you have no idea what GIC's pay, why would you claim in your previous post they pay 2-3 %, that's non-sensical.  Either they pay 2-3 %, or you don't know what they pay, it's one or the other.  Just sayin'....
