Santa Brings Ontario Over 10,000 New Cases For Christmas

Ontario is reporting 10,412 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, according to data from Public Health Ontario.

The daily case count is the first time the province has reported more than 10,000 cases and marks a pandemic high for the third day in a row. The province reported 9,571 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, shattering the previous record of 5,790 that came a day earlier:

Yep but clickbait, when read article barely any increase in hospitalizations (and in ICU). Same here in BC, lots more cases (actually they are rationing tests), but hospitalizations and ICU actually dropping, albeit slowly.   Between Omicron being a dud (compared to press and increased govt restrictions) and Russia pulling back from Ukraine, should be a good up day Monday in US. JOHN - The fear mongering experts are claiming it'll take a coupla weeks for the hospitilization increase to catch up with the new case increase.  Ill guess we'll see how right (or wrong) they are mid January. Ontario Govt has great Covid data website but webpage with current Hospitalizations graph is currently not working: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data/hospitalizations But when you open the link that Fiddy provided, it will take you to a Ontario Covid Critical Care Hospitalizations (here in BC we call that ICU) graph which shows they are flat: https://twitter.com ...more

JOHN  SP -  As much as Fat, Flip-Flop Ford pretends his gov't is working Ontario's COVID issue 24/7, it's quite clear that he's lying.  If he was telling the truth, the #'s would have been updated, even over the holidays.  If front line health care workers gave up their Xmas vacay to put needles in arms, then the provincial reporters should have been working ...more
