Speaking Of "Marner" . .

When gus are outlawed, only the outlaws have guns....

And the cops...right?

Only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy and a gun.... Quin wrote:"And the cops...right?"

A good guy with a gun did not stop the buffalo shooter.  If they could ban them all I would be all for it.  Until then, Law enforcement professionals with guns will have to do.

Guns don't kill people ( they can't shoot themselfs )  - People kill people !

Obviously the wheels on the bus do not go all the way around and around. ( they can't shoot themselfs)   This is the kind of idiot you align yourself with fiddy.  Why?
Comment by yggdrasill on May 19, 2022 4:50pm
Exactly right! Just like cigarettes don't kill people (they can't smoke themselves!), and alcohol doesn't kill drivers (car crashes do!). That's why it makes no sense to regulate any of it.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on May 19, 2022 1:46pm
The "good guy with the gun" in Buffalo had the wrong ammo unfortunately.  In the Buffalo case, body armour piercing bullets were required.  Along with the appropriate ammunition, more "good guys with guns" could have easily neutralized this threat.  What's better than a good guy with a gun ?  Yup, that's right, MULTIPLE good guys with guns ! Uh huh, and when we all have guns with armour piercing bullets then what? A disagreement at the bar escalates into a shooting gallery? How do you tell the bad guy from the good guy?  Shoot 'em all and let god sort 'em out?   Nice vision you have for the future.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on May 19, 2022 5:52pm
Sadly, it's not about my "vision for the future" - newsflash, the "future" is already here bro. Disagreements at bars regularly end up with gunplay, and nowadays you can't even go to the movies without getting your ride car jacked, ask Mitch Marner, he'll tell ya.   I'm not sure how often you watch the 6 'o'clock news Quin, but it's a nasty ...more

Yeah wll since the post is about him then he is fair game. If Mitch would have had a gun, chances are pretty good that he would be hospitalized or dead right now.  Gun or no Gun they got the jump on him. Not having a gun may have saved his life. It is a nasty evil world out there.  More guns will just make it nastier, not better.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on May 19, 2022 8:20pm
Incorrect - "More Guns" equals the playing field.  Perhaps the little 77 year old lady that got car jacked at Horton's in Innisfil this week may have had a fighting chance with a pistol in her purse when some douche bag crack head stole her car at knifepint.  That coulda been you mother or grandmother Bro !   https://www.barrietoday.com/police-beat/barrie-senior ...more

My mother or grandmother would be shopping for a new car, yours would be dead. You are not outdrawing a young punk with a knife. The cars are insured and replaceable your life is not. Of course the police are gonna say that, what else CAN they say ?  "We advise all citizens to fight these car jackers by any means necessary, don't let someone take from you what you've worked hard to get" ?? I didn't hear the cops publicly scolding the fellow a couple of days ago that caught one of three car jackers in Rexdale, and held him for police while the other ...more

Fiddy, let it go.  :You've more than had your say on this topic.  Your anecdotal fantasies do not match the statistics but by all means hold onto your opinion if you're not swayed.  Just leave the ENB board out of it, please.

OL GRIZ - My apologies, I didn't realize you were appointed King $hit of the Enbridge board.  If you find my posts that offensive and/or off topic, there's a nifty little feature on Stockhouse called the "ignore" button.  If your knickers are that twisted, I suggest you use it. Yeah he could have got himself and the old lady killed in the ensuing gun battle for property that wasn't even his. If you can afford a $100,000 car you can afford to let it go and have the insurance company replace it.  Chasing after gun-toting criminals is the job of law enforment professionals lest the good guy happens upon a jogger minding his own business and pops a round or two in ...more

Well it is not like it couldn't happen here.  Hunting rifles would have been just as effective in that case and I am not sure that isn't what those two hicks used.  I am not for banning hunting rifles either although hopefully you would use them to hunt animals and then lock them up.  I see no reason for handguns or semi-automatic or automatic weapons here.  If you can& ...more

Most people are against handguns until they become a helpless victim of a violent crime. The problem is the gangsters and thugs don't seem to give a Fiddler's Fcuk  what you think, what the cops think, or what the courts think. In fact, the courts are 99 % of the problem.  The cops lock  'em up, the courts slap their wrsits and release them.  Catch and release in ...more

Listen dude we do not do 'merica because 'merica does not work for 'mericans/  Why would we do it here? QUIN - Trust me man, if i could go to 'Merica, I'd be gone in a heart beat. I wasn't "going to" cross from Mexico - - "THINKING" about crossing illegally and actually "DOING IT" are two toitally different things.  I wouldn't risk being barred from the greatest country in the world .  For me, that's enough of a deterrent, so i stayed put.   Quin wrote:"You were going to cross from Mexico and you abide by ...more

Pretty sure I proved to you that guns don't deter crime, and that in fact they invite crime. But here you are, ignoring facts and sticking to your guns (literally!).
Comment by yggdrasill on May 19, 2022 11:59pm
If that were true, if gun ownership were a deterrent to crime, the US would be one of the safest places on earth. I think we can agree that although the idea appears logical at first, in reality it doesn't work.  More guns means more people equipped to commit crimes. More people equipped to commit suicide. And more toddlers shooting people. Did you know that more people have died in ...more
