‘Precious young souls’: Trump honours Texas shooting victims

When 19 cops stood in the hallway behind a locked door while 19 children were systematically executed, it lends strength to the argument teachers should be armed as the last line of defense.
Had the teacher in that classroom been armed, perhaps some of those infants would still be alive today.
Guns save lives, period !

Sure, why not arm the kids too! Move south dude.  FU sarge.  It needs saying.

I don't think arming children is prudent. That said, I doubt a classroom of 19 armed children would manage to wipe each other off the face of the earth... Quin wrote:"Sure, why not arm the kids too! Move south dude.  FU sarge.  It needs saying."

Guns are the leading cause of death among US children, but I'm sure some would surivive. Survival of the fittest. We need to start making guns specifically for their smaller hands. Someone should arm the cops, too. Can you imagine what they could have done if they each had a weapon and a military grade bulletproof vest capable of stopping rifle rounds? Then, put a soldier in every home, every ...more

He's not joking. "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released updated official mortality data that showed 45,222 firearm-related deaths in the United States in 2020 — a new peak." It is pathetic. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2201761

Idle hands are the devil's workshop and we literally have billions of idle hands on the planet now.
Comment by yggdrasill on May 29, 2022 2:07pm
What kind of gun does God own? We should probably put that one into those idle hands.

"The previous analysis, which examined data through 2016, showed that firearm-related injuries were second only to motor vehicle crashes (both traffic-related and nontraffic-related) as the leading cause of death among children and adolescents" Hmmm, perhaps we should ban automobiles too :) Quin wrote:"He's not joking. Firearm-related homicides have gone up 37 per cent over the past 11 years in Canada.  I guess when guns are outlawed, only the outlaws have guns eh ? https://toronto.citynews.ca/2022/05/29/handguns-present-in-majority-of-firearm-related-violent-crimes-says-statcan-report/ Fiddy wrote:""The previous analysis, which examined data through 2016, showed that firearm-related injuries ...more

And trained law enforcement professionals.   Also not all gun crimes are committed by outlaws.  It hard to tell how many legal gun owners snap. The new report cautioned, however, that there are gaps in data where guns are used, including the type of firearms, ownership and storage. There is “no consistent definition of a shooting applied by police services in Canada, nor are ...more

“Firearm-related violent crime typically represents less than three per cent of police-reported violent crime in Canada,” said the report. That's from your link Fiddy.  So firearm related violent crime accounts for only 3% of violent crime in Canada, but it accounts for 37% of homicides. This may come as a surprise, but apparently guns make it easier to kill. School shootings in ...more

Violent crime is up in the US as well, in spite of increasing lax gun laws. As I've pointed out before, the states with the highest crime rates are also the states with the laxest gun laws. Violent crime goes up when poverty increases. Guns just make the violence deadlier.
Comment by yggdrasill on May 30, 2022 12:21am
Guns killed more people in the US than car crashes did in the US in 2020. Over 45,000 people were killed with a firearm in 2020. That dwarfs the UK's acid attack numbers.
