climate change

There's been quite a bit of climate change discussion on this board lately so I thought I'd toss my view into the ring.

For me, there's two key points. First off, I actually don't believe in global warming. I just think it's part of the normal climate cycle (I think it's mainly related to sunspots), Here's a nice little article that agrees the studies are flawed (but he thinks it's related to not accounting for clouds but main point is the models are badly flawed). there's a ton of great lines in the article but I really liked this one: "This worry about CO2, the worry about methane, the worry about global warming, is all a total fabrication by shocked journalists and or dishonest politicians."

Secondly, even if I'm wrong, what Canada is doing doesn't make a hill of beans of difference. All that the liberals are doing is destroying our standard of living, adding to the infaltion issues, and generally making life more difficult for the average Canadian.

Here's a link to a Canaidan gov't website showing that even after all the pain, added expense, and wasted money, Canada has gone from 1.8% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions in 2005 to 1.5% in 2020. In the mean time, China has gone from 18.6% to 28.1%. (on yeah, tell me how we're saving the world!!)

Hard to say what to believe these days. I have commented on a few Boards and will repeat here. I do quite a bit of bicycle cycling.  This year in particular I have seen more wildlife that I have seen in many years and the bush is more vibrant than ever.  My lawn hasn't been greener in years.

Nobody is denying the climate changes.. so not sure what anyone is getting at throwing the label 'climate change denier' around. The climate has changed in the past and will continue to change in the future.  The question isn't is CO2 levels increasing in the atmosphere. We know it is, that's a fact. We also know right now the earth is greener than it ever has been since we ...more

Destruction of the Rain Forests causes global warming.  Since the start of civilation people started cutting down the trees for fuel and construction.  Everywhere where thee are no trees there are deserts. When deforestation occurs, much of the carbon stored by trees is released back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide, which contributes to climate change. In the last decade, the ...more

TheeRook....nice post Your post reminded me of a question I had as a child being educated in a Catholic Elementary School.  They talked about Moses going from Egypt to the "Promised Land" which was this fertile lush area which is now Irsael.  I was thinking at the time - "but this is desert!!".  I learned many years ago that there were trees there and they cut ...more

deforestation, real  pollution are things we humans should address and fix, not picking one odorless, colorless, tasteless gas CO2 as the target boogeyman to vilify.

there is constant debate on whether climate change is man made or not. I can assure you, almost all natural disasters are man made or been amplified, then media and politicians can drive the narrative of climate change. The term is geo-engineering you think 11 consecutive typhoons that keep bypassing taiwan and japan, and slammed into china, happen by chance?  you  think all wildfires  ...more
