Reliability

Hello everyone! I am fairly new to investing and I was thinking about purchasing Enbridge for the dividend. Do most people think Enbridge's dividend is safe over the long-run? Thanks for any responses

Just a small amount of research will tell you that Enbridge has RAISED it's dividend 29 straight years. To say that the dividend is safe is an understatement and with their current financials year 30 is a vitual certainty. Glta

I been holding for 10 years and never had problem with the dividends , all I can tell you the stock a bit high , my goal is to sell at 60$ , once the usa start to cut interest we may get to 60$ but may hang there for a while, if you want some capital gain while getting a good dividends bce is a stock that can reach 60$ , but if you want getting all of them in one basket with 7% monthly ...more

That is a decent number, for me I don't have a number in mind. This sector has been out of favour for a couple years and is just waking up. Add to that interest rates are falling, in reports from TD and others to potentially as low as 2.75 percent in late 2025. An extra 1.5 percent less adds a lot of free cash to bottom line which Enbridge is really good at getting back to shareholders. There ...more

I think it is as near a certainy as there can be to see at least a 3% dividend increase next month (historically ENB has increased dividend in each of the last 4 years in Oct approx by 3%). So look for $3.78-3.80/yr or .95 a quarter vs current .915. CDN Interest rates falling and projected to continue falling which is good if you are carrying the debt ENB is, recent acquisition revenue coming ...more

Unfortunately, it will be "Border Czar" Cacklin' Kamala going to the Whitehouse.  Those who voted for Biden when he won, will vote for Kamala. Great news if you're a huge fan of open borders.

Hi Marty I just purchased a bunch of BCE yesterday before the ex-dividend. I chose BCE over Enbridge in the moment, hopefully it works! Thank you for your reply. In your opinion do you think the dividend for BCE is safe? That is the primary reason I purchased it.
Comment by Marty47 on Sep 14, 2024 1:05pm
the industry in Canada remains an oligopoly with little real competition, and largely, we do not believe BCE’s dividend is at any real risk in the medium term. that is what some expert said , now if interest is going down to 3% in mid 2025 then bce is a capital intensive company thus with lower interest mean more money for the dividend as they will pay less in interest , also since the rate may go ...more
