Exposed

Michigans gov Gretchen Witmer has now fully exposed the lunacy of her stubborn
resistance to ENB's pipeline operations.  Guess she never counted on a war but
then we are not living in a fantasy world that she and others would wish.

If Gretchen had her way ENB would have been shut down long ago creating a
scenario where the whole world would have been held hostage to Russian oil.
Even if the sanctions were to include a global boycott of Russian oil,  at least
Canada is there to keep the oil flowing south.   I'm sure Biden has told Gretchen
to STFU for the time being until we're out of this crisis.

War is a very sobering event that causes us to re evaluate our priorities in a hurry
so things like green initiatives and cranking interest rates up to dampen inflation
need to be put on the back burner for a later time.  How long is anybody's guess
but the Americans better thank God those pipelines are flowing and Canada is
still in the oil business no thanks to Justin and his accolytes.

This would be an ideal time for Enbridge to give gov. Whitmer what she wants, and shut Line 5 down now. Oppourtunities like this do not often present themselves, perhaps an Enbridge invoked Line 5 shutdown for "spring maintenance", is just what the doctor ordered.  Not a permenant shut down, just a shut down until maybe mid-June or so.  Enbridge could put a "looking out ...more

This would be a colossal mistake. Why give them options? ENB is a reliable supplier, not using Putin like tactics.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Mar 06, 2022 12:33pm
Might I add, it's mind boggling Biden is still purchasing Russian oil, and basically helping to fund the misery the Ukranian people are being subjected to. Grandpa Joe has made pricing at the pumps more of a priority than the price of human lives in Ukraine.  Says Joe :"Now Vladamir, you stop this war now you hear, but if you want to continue with it, we're happy to help fund it ...more

Its not often I find my self agreeing with you guys but here it goes. Silkos is right about shutting down Line 5 being a huge mistake.  You do not want them to figure out just how much they may not need Line 5 on top of the fact that it is flowing full tilt boogie with heating season in full swing.  Besides it looks like Putin made the case for not shutting down Line 5 for Enbridge ...more

Very well put, marketsense. The only disagreament I have with it is using the word  ACOLYTES. The more accurate adjective would be, "lame brained eco-idealists", who live in Never-Neverland. Incidentally, last night a number of American politicians suggested that Keystone should be finished to replace the oil the US is buying from Russia, as the drilling program in the US was halted ...more

No way they'll resurrect Keystone, it's environment first over everything isn't it ?  Going green has a price, and that price is what people are now paying at an ever increasing rate, at the pumps. Global warming is a major concern, and if folks in the USA need to pay 6-7-8, or even 10 dollars a gallon, then so be it.  We only have one planet, and we need to save it no matter ...more

Keystone is gone and throwing environmentalists on the fire won't restart it. The USA has the capacity to ramp up imports of Canadian crude by rail by 200,000 barrels per day.  If you want to buy stock by CP.  They just bought a shiny new north south railroad. https://www.oilsandsmagazine.com/projects/crude-oil-by-rail#USA

QUIN - Totally agree - I've been eye ballin' CP for a while, just haven't had the nut sack to pull the trigger yet... Safe to say ln 5 is not going to cease its operations anytime soon.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Mar 06, 2022 7:35pm
NPC -  Correct.  Line 5 will cease to operate only when a court orders it to do so. OR, in the unlikely event of a catastophic leak..... Npc wrote:"Safe to say ln 5 is not going to cease its operations anytime soon."
Comment by NissimLevy on Mar 07, 2022 11:01am
And you don't think these environment crusaders will sabotage Line 5 just to show how it can leak? Don't be naive. They will do it.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Mar 07, 2022 11:12am
Damn right the enviro terroists could hit Line 5, i've mentioned that numerous times over the past couple of years.....
Comment by Quintessential1 on Mar 07, 2022 12:39pm
Yeah and I have thought you were nuts everytime you said it.  Name a time the environmentalists caused a environmental disaster protesting an environmental problem? They aren't like your right-to-llifers bombing abortion clinics to save babies. They are smart educated people and won't hurt their own cause)or the environment) by doing something that stupid. As a warning you are ...more

QUIN - You are right, five is alive.  But anything can happen anywhere in this day and age.  And didn't the enviros manage to turn off one of Enbrige's taps not so long ago, and cause a temporary shut down ?  If they gained access that easily , they basically could have done whatever they pleased.  Thankfully they didn't. Couldn't find one eh?   Good, because I checked first LOL. Yeah they shut the line off accordoing to Enbridge and they also called them and told them they were doing it so that nothing would be broken by the stress of a valve closing at full capacity and cause an inadvertant leak. I don't actually blame these people.  The sooner that Line 5 is running through a tunnel 100& ...more

Hey Fiddy I hope you had a good time down south and enjoyed not being on Stockhouse all the time. ENB is definitely the riskiest of the midstreamers. If you're worried about this and that (ie: Line5, Mainline contracts, etc) with ENB, it's never too late to sell half and put it into a different midstreamer. At this point and even in spite of the run-up, I still think PPL would be your ...more

Hey Fiddy I just saw a BNN article from Kenney about Keystone XL. As a TRP shareholder, I really hate the idea of TRP doing anything as I think there would still be majot grief, no matter what they say. Anyway, if you are thinking of swapping some ENB out, if I was you, I'd just do half to PPL. Here's a link to the BNN article. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/alberta-s-premier-says-it-s ...more

Hey CSC That would sure be wonderful for TRP but I totally doubt that is going to happen. I just hope TRP doesn't do anything stupid and be overly optimistic. Take her easy Sarge PS - Canada and the US are sure a big mess with these two idiotic and idealist/unrealistic gov'ts.
